ARCA Care project honored for enabling manufacturing excellence

MEBANE March 2, 2017 — ARCA, one of the largest manufacturers of cash handling technologies in the world, announced today that it has been recognized as a Manufacturing Leadership Awards winner for its outstanding achievement in the Smart Product Leadership category.

The winning project, ARCA Care, enables ARCA to monitor the health of all deployed CM18 cash recyclers in real-time, and provide predicative and preventative maintenance suggestions. This helps customers keep units functioning at a high-level while minimizing machine downtime.

“ARCA recognized a need to dynamically support our products, reduce unexpected downtime, and control maintenance costs. To achieve this we created a system that embraces Internet of Things (IoT) technology to continuously monitor our devices, recommend maintenance, and diagnose problems when they occur,” said Dawn Guttman, ARCA Care’s Product Owner. “As an intelligent maintenance system, ARCA Care has helped us provide superior service and we are proud to have received this prestigious distinction.”

“As ARCA’s business in the U.S. doubled in 2013, we realized that real time visibility into the field performance of our flagship product was critical to scale our service business and exceed customer Service Level Agreements. ARCA Care was created to address this requirement,” said Allen Shaver, VP of Global Technology. “Four years later, ARCA Care is an even more critical element in delivering on ARCA’s promise to customers globally across all product lines.”
