ARCA to install three cash recyclers this summer

MEBANE, NC (MAY 28, 2014) — CAMPCO Federal Credit Union has chosen ARCA to provide cash recycling technology to its two locations in northeast Wyoming. ARCA, a global leader in cash automation, will be installing its CM18 cash recyclers in an effort to enhance CAMPCO members’ banking experience and improve teller efficiency at the branches. The cash recyclers will be a vital part of CAMPCO’s headquarters—a new, teller-pod style design, which is scheduled to open later this summer.

“We see the cash recyclers as a great opportunity to spend more time with members,” said Kurt Thelen, president and CEO of CAMPCO Federal Credit Union. “The cash recyclers combined with our teller-pod layout will free up our tellers and allow them to engage with members on new products and services.”

With teller-pod branch design, the traditional teller line is replaced by an island style layout. By eliminating the physical barriers between the teller and member, it becomes easier for both parties to facilitate a conversation. The teller-pod system also gives financial institutions the opportunity to cross train tellers in other aspects of operations—improving overall branch efficiency. Cash recyclers are a key component to making this design possible.

The CM18 cash recycler eliminates the need for employees to manually count cash and significantly reduces the number of trips employees make to the vault. This allows employees to engage more with members while cutting transaction time. Cash recyclers will authenticate member deposits, dispense cash, and secure money in a UL 291 rated safe.

During CAMPCO’s selection process for cash automation solutions, ARCA’s proactive approach to service and maintenance was a critical deciding factor.

“The fact that ARCA is able to remotely monitor the machines and alert us of small issues before they become hindering problems is huge,” said Thelen. “ARCA is proactive about ensuring the cash recyclers are running and last for a long time.”
