Myrtle Beach race-themed amusement park selects ARCA to automate cash processes

Broadway Grand Prix expects increased cash control efficiencies, quick ROI

MEBANE, NC (DECEMBER 15, 2015)—Broadway Grand Prix, a family-owned racing amusement park in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, has selected the ARCA CM18 cash recycler and cash control software, Concert, as its back-office cash processing solution. This hardware and software package will help the park provide a better guest experience by improving labor efficiencies by automating traditional manual cash handling processes.

“We did an analysis with a project director from ARCA and looked at our entire cash cycle,” said David Melton, General Manager at Broadway Grand Prix. “After reviewing the time spent issuing funds, end-of-day receipt validation, mid-shift audits, shift changes, breaks, as well as multiple other variable factors, we saw lots of opportunities to streamline our processes. Dealing with cash takes away from Broadway’s primary focus of providing a memorable entertainment experience.”

The ARCA CM18 eliminates exposed cash and automates the traditional manual back-office tasks of counting, distributing, and auditing cash. The machine automatically counts, authenticates and secures cash inside of the unit’s UL 291 rated safe. This provides the park with labor efficiencies, increased security and more control over its cash inventory.

“Broadway Grand Prix is based in one of the busiest summertime vacation destinations on the East Coast,” said Brad Pomeroy, Project Director at ARCA. “By using technology to optimize the back-office, the park is able to focus on what is really important—the customer.”

With Concert, ARCA’s cash control software, Broadway Grand Prix will have increased visibility of cash inventory, a complete audit trail, and web-based reporting capabilities. The park’s employees will also be able to perform returns and end of shift settlement without the need of a supervisor.

“It’s pretty simple when you look at the time saved in handling cash,” said Melton. “We think we’ll see an ROI within the first year.”
