ARCA wins operational leadership award for its “Lean Launchpad” project

MEBANE, NC (MARCH 19, 2014) – ARCA, a global leader in cash automaton solutions, announced today that it has been recognized with the 2014 Manufacturing Leadership Award (ML100 Award). The ML100 Award recognizes organizations for excellence, leadership and innovation in developing manufacturing solutions. ARCA is being acknowledged for the success of its “Lean Launchpad” project within its depot repair department.

“It’s an honor for our depot repair team to be recognized alongside other global manufacturing leaders,” said Chris Cornett, manager of production and depot repair at ARCA. “I’m very proud of the work our depot repair team has put in to make the lean initiative a success.”

ARCA was selected by a panel of industry leaders for the operational leadership award, one of the most competitive ML100 categories, for its “Lean Launchpad” project. This project utilizes efficiency by emphasizing lean principles and practical problem-solving skills to develop manufacturing solutions. As a result of the “Lean Launchpad,” ARCA’s depot repair department increased productivity by 60 percent and boosted department revenue by 90 percent.

“By adopting lean principles, our depot repair department is able to work efficiently and with more precision while focusing on quality customer service,” said Dennis Ross, director of continuous improvement at ARCA. “It’s great to see that our lean initiative is having a positive impact with measurable results.”

Since April 2013, ARCA has adopted lean principles throughout the organization. ARCA’s company-wide lean approach has been instrumental in its immense growth over the past two years. This is the second consecutive year that ARCA has been included in the ML100 list.

ARCA will be recognized with other ML100 Award winners during an awards gala at the 2014 Manufacturing Leadership Summit in June.
