ARCA Honored as a North Carolina Top 50 Family-Friendly Company
Morris Media Network recognizes ARCA for its commitment to a healthy family environment
MEBANE, N.C. (August 27, 2014) – ARCA, a global leader in financial transaction automation, announced today that it was named as one of North Carolina’s Top 50 Family-Friendly companies. This marks the first time that ARCA has made the prestigious list, which honors North Carolina companies that are promoting a positive family-friendly work environment for their employees.
“This award is very meaningful for us,” Aubrey Meador, President of ARCA, said. “We appreciate being recognized for the focus that we put on improving the lives of our employees and their families.”
Creating a healthy work environment is an important part of working at ARCA. It’s a philosophy that can be seen daily at ARCA’s corporate headquarters just outside the Research Triangle Park in Mebane, NC.
“When people come to visit us here in Mebane, they usually comment on our culture and open environment,” Meador said. “Our space is filled with adjustable desks for standing or sitting and some even have treadmills attached. Often you will see children and families that stop by to visit or have lunch. It’s a remarkable place with a lot of positive, healthy energy.”
ARCA takes pride in cultivating a progressive work culture that includes flexible work hours, 4 weeks of paid vacation, and a multitude of innovative programs promoting health and wellness for the entire family. One of the most popular programs that ARCA offers is a subsidized membership in Maple Spring Garden’s Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program. By enrolling in the program, ARCA employees are supporting a local farm while receiving weekly produce that is fresh, local, and organic. Other popular benefits include monthly food truck visits, fun run events, healthy snacks in the break room and subsidized gym memberships.
This is the 16th anniversary of the Family-Friendly 50 award. Companies were selected in partnership with UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School and Morris Media Network. The list will be published in the September 2014 issues of Carolina Parent, Charlotte Parent and Piedmont Parent magazines.
