ARCA and CTS Cashpro to open CM18 cash recycler assembly line in the United States

February 5, 2014

North Carolina Governor Pat McCrory and U.S. Rep. Howard Coble (R-NC) applaud the investment

MEBANE, NC (January 23, 2014) — ARCA, in collaboration with CTS Cashpro, today announced a series of investments to establish a local assembly line of CTS Cashpro CM18 cash recyclers in Mebane, NC. The facility, which will produce the only cash recycler assembled in the United States, will be operational by June 2014.

“Manufacturing plays a big role in North Carolina’s economic comeback and I am happy to see that ARCA is investing in our state,” Governor McCrory said. “Our strong workforce and friendly business climate will continue to make North Carolina a top destination for manufacturers.”

ARCA has worked for over a decade in partnership with CTS Cashpro to promote the benefits of cash recycling technology. The CM18 cash recycler automates cash in, cash out, balancing and inventory functions in the banking and retail markets. This technology provides reduced transaction times, improved accuracy, increased security and more efficient control over cash inventory.

“In the past couple of years, banks and credit unions have been installing cash recycling technology at a rapid pace,” Mort O’Sullivan, founder & CEO of ARCA, said. “Due to the increased adoption of ARCA’s solutions, we’ve doubled the size of our manufacturing facility, added over 40 new jobs, and have worked diligently to bring a lean manufacturing philosophy to our organization. We have committed investments of over $4 million and will continue to add jobs in our efforts to bring cash recycler manufacturing to North Carolina.”

A sharp increase in the adoption of this technology has prompted the companies to set up local manufacturing to complement the existing manufacturing line in Italy, which will also continue production. By bringing this assembly line to North Carolina, ARCA will shorten the supply chain, providing a more efficient model for the distribution of the CM18 cash recycler in North America.

“We are pleased to welcome ARCA and CTS Cashpro to North Carolina,” Congressman Coble said. “It is always exciting when a company decides to ‘insource’ jobs to North Carolina instead of ‘outsourcing’ them to other countries. This is another example of how attractive North Carolina has become to manufacturers. They know that North Carolina has a business-friendly environment and Mebane is leading the way. To our new Italian friends, we say welcome to North Carolina, and even though you may know a little something about food, we look forward to sharing some great North Carolina barbecue with you soon.”
